Privacy Policy
This policy explains how we handle information from customers, website visitors and people who call a customer's business. Read the details below, or try the demo to hear how the receptionist introduces itself and announces recording.

Who we are and how to contact us
We are TypeScience, trading as Plumbing Answering AI. We provide an AI receptionist for plumbing companies. This policy covers information handled through our website, account setup, demos and receptionist service, including calls made to a customer business that forwards its number to us.
For help with your account or the service, email [email protected]. For privacy questions or requests concerning personal information, email [email protected]. Callers may contact the plumbing business they called or contact us at that privacy address.
Customers, visitors and callers
Customers provide account and business information when they sign up and configure the receptionist. Website visitors may use our pages, browser demo or chats without becoming customers. People who call a customer's business provide information during a conversation with that business's receptionist.
For callers' information, the customer business decides what is collected and why. We process that information on the business's behalf. Our data processing terms form part of the terms of service. A question about why a plumbing business requested particular details can be directed to that business; you may also send us a privacy request.
Account, billing and business information
We collect account details such as your name, business name, email address and phone number. Billing is handled by our payment processor, and we do not store full payment card numbers. These details support your account and subscription.
We also collect your onboarding answers and the website content you point us to. That information gives the receptionist your service area, hours, services, price policy and urgency rules. It also identifies who should receive urgent calls. You can change service settings by telling the AI in plain words through the dashboard.
Call information and recordings
We collect call audio, recordings, transcripts, summaries and caller numbers as part of the receptionist service. The receptionist says it is a virtual assistant and that the call is recorded at the start of each call. These notices cannot be switched off.
The service uses call information to handle intake, flag urgency, take messages and support the routing or booking choices the customer configures. Call alerts sent by email and app push notification include the summary, urgency tag, transcript and recording. Customers also receive a daily digest email and can review call records in the dashboard.
Demo calls and chats
We record and transcribe demo calls and chats on this website to show the result. The browser demo lets visitors try the receptionist before signing up. Its plumbing scenarios use a fictional business rather than the visitor's own configured receptionist.
Information shared during the demo becomes part of that demo interaction. If you have a question about a demo recording, transcript or chat, or want to make a privacy request concerning it, contact [email protected]. You do not need to become a customer to contact us about your information.
Website analytics and cookies
We use privacy-friendly analytics and Google Analytics to understand website use. Google Analytics uses cookies. Website analytics is one of the categories of information processing associated with visiting our pages, separate from the call records generated when a customer forwards calls to the receptionist.
You can email [email protected] with questions about website information or an opt-out request. Please identify whether your request concerns a website visit, a demo interaction, your customer account or a call to a plumbing business so the relevant information is clear.
Providers that support the service
We use service providers in these categories: hosting and storage, telephone carriers, AI model providers for voice and text, payment processing, email delivery and analytics. These functions support the website, subscription and receptionist features described in this policy.
Voice and text processing by AI providers is part of delivering the receptionist service. Our AI model provider, OpenAI, does not use our API data to train its models by default. Payment processing handles billing; we do not keep full card numbers ourselves. Hosting and storage support the information held for the service, including call records.
How we use callers' information
We process callers' information to provide the receptionist service for the customer business. The customer's instructions guide intake and handling, including the business's service boundaries, urgency criteria and choice between appointment booking and callback details. Your receptionist's call record lets the business review the request and decide its next step.
Calls, website and demo chats, recordings, transcripts and summaries of trial and customer accounts may be reviewed by authorized staff for quality, support and abuse prevention. Access is limited to those purposes.
We never sell personal information. We never use callers' data for our own marketing. For a caller, the plumbing business remains the party deciding what information it wants collected and the reason for collecting it. Our role is to process the information on that business's behalf.
Recording retention and account closure
Recordings are kept for the period the customer business chooses: 30 or 90 days. They are deleted after that chosen period. Customers should select the available recording period with their call review needs in mind.
Transcripts and summaries are kept while the account is open. They are deleted within 30 days after the account closes or on request. Recording retention and transcript retention therefore follow different schedules. For a request about a particular recording, transcript or summary, contact the customer business or email our privacy address and identify the interaction involved.
Access, correction, deletion and opt-out requests
You can request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information, or make an opt-out request, by emailing [email protected]. Callers may send their request to the business they called or directly to us. Include enough context to explain which account, website interaction or business call your request concerns.
California residents can use the same privacy email address to make requests concerning rights that apply to them. This policy's contact route is available to customers, website visitors and callers; you do not have to be the owner of a customer account to raise a question about your own information.
Children and policy updates
The service is not intended for children under 13. It is designed for plumbing businesses and the reception of their business calls. Questions about information involving a child can be sent to [email protected].
We date policy changes on this page. The date at the start identifies this version of the policy. You can also review our call data controls and terms of service for related information about using the receptionist. Contact our privacy address if you need clarification about the practices described here.
